Paul Ryan was born in Dublin in 1960. Paul is extremely influenced by nature, particularly the Irish landscape which features extensively in his paintings. Observing it from different perspectives his work reflects the ever-changing mood, light and colour of a familiar place.
The paintings on view are a selection from his ‘Coastal landscapes’ series concentrating mostly on the coastline around Dublin Bay and in particular the wide open space around Sandymount Strand.
Because of its tactile and viscous quality oil paint is his medium of choice although he does enjoy the inclusion of various mixed media which helps create different surfaces and textures within the composition.
Paul’s paintings are in private and corporate collections worldwide and has exhibited in the RHA annual show.
